  • 2. What is the average treatment time for invisible aligners? Will I experience pain and discomfort?

    The duration of an orthodontic treatment with invisible aligners will always depend on the complexity of the clinical case and the patient's cooperation, since for them to be effective they need to be worn for around 22 hours a day. On average, aligner treatments last between 18 and 24 months. When a new aligner is fitted, it is normal to feel pressure and some discomfort, which means that tooth movement is taking place as scheduled.

  • 3. How often do I have to change my dental aligner?

    Changing to a new aligner should generally be done every 7-14 days or as directed by your orthodontist.  

  • 4. What care should I take with invisible aligners?

    As at any other time, during treatment with invisible aligners you should maintain regular and effective oral hygiene by brushing your teeth three times a day and flossing. To ensure that you keep the aligners clean and avoid plaque build-up, you should never consume food or drink with the aligners in place, and the aligners should be rinsed daily.

  • 5. From what age can you opt for orthodontic treatment with invisible aligners?

    Invisible aligners can be used by both adults and children with mixed dentition. 

  • 6. I have veneers or crowns. Are invisible aligners the right type of treatment for me?

    These conditions do not prevent treatment with invisible aligners, but the orthodontist will assess the specifics of each clinical case.
